Challenges & opportunities

Marloe has enjoyed a growing, fan-like, following on social media. Examples like a 1000+ member fan group on Facebook, and  influencers who produce brand-related content on Youtube, were all signalling great brand equity.

The team at Marloe were keen to create a brand community program that would provide member benefits as well as augment new customer acquisition.

This would diversify acquisition channels and offer less reliance on costly advertising.

Marloe wanted to avoid discounting as much as possible. Buying a premium watch tends to be a once-in-a-while experience, so there is less of a business case for discounts on future purchases.

Gather's Approach

Given Marloe's business model and objectives, we worked closely with the team to design and implement a customer referral program and rewards system. Our approach included the following aspects

Tiered Rewards

A tiered approach enabled rewards that were attainable for customers, as well as ambitious rewards for influencers.

Gifts for Advocates instead of Discounting
Marloe's rewards for advocates were exclusive gifts. Gifts were complementary to Marloe's products offering. a way to augment the advocate's experience with Marloe products.

Introductory offers for newly referred customers took the form of discounts on their first purchase.

Gather's flexible rewards engine enabled the differentiating between rewards for advocates and rewards for referred friends.
Embedded white labeled experience
